Job Description: The Illinois Department of Public Health is currently seeking law clerks for the Legal Service Division in the Chicago office. The Department is looking for interested candidates to work as law clerks to start as soon as mid-May, (the Department can be flexible). This will be a great opportunity for interested candidates to learn about health law and public health law and to have some exposure to a variety of the Department’s more than 200 various programs. Clerkships are paid a stipend and students will have hands on experience working on providing support to legal staff on administrative cases involving regulatory action of health care facilities, research on significant policy issues and the rulemaking process. This experience will provide excellent exposure for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in public health law or health law.
Qualifications: 2nd and 3rd year law students are encouraged to apply.
