The Public Health Law Association (PHLA) takes privacy and data protection issues seriously. We have designed this Privacy Policy to explain how we handle personally identifiable information collected from users of our credit card payment solutions.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy covers Public Health Law Association treatment of personally identifiable information collected from users of our credit card payment solutions, as well as information that we acquire from your institution to offer you our credit card payment solutions online billing and payment service.

This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Public Health Law Association does not own or control, or to people that the Public Health Law Association does not employ or manage.

Information Collection and Use

The personally identifiable information we acquire in processing a payment varies according to the nature of the transaction and the way in which your institution is using our credit card payment solutions system. When you use our credit card payment solutions, we may ask for your contact information (such as your name, street address and email address), as well as credit card and/or bank account information.

The Public Health Law Association uses the information collected to process payment transactions, to facilitate billing, and otherwise deliver the payment and/or billing services. The Public Health Law Association will not send you any unsolicited information to the email addresses you provide, except as mentioned below:

• Electronic copy of payment receipts
• Electronic copy of payment failures
• When a new billing statement is available

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Protecting personally identifiable information about our customers is important to PHLA. We share and disclose such information only as described below.

The Public Health Law Association will only send personally identifiable information when:

  1. 1) we need to share your information to provide the payment and/or billing service you have requested.
  2. 2) it is necessary for the Public Health Law Association to deliver payment and/or billing services.
  3. 3) we have your consent to share the information, such as for fraud prevention.

Information Security

Information security is critical to PHLA. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We store information gathered on secure computers located in a biometrically locked data center. We use firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and database level encryption technology to prevent our computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons.
